Minimum tank size – 60 l, depending on crew, longer than higher

Biotope description:

  • water color greenish;
  • transparent water;
  • substrate: any (preferred sand, small stones);
  • a lot of plants: dense clusters, lawns, mosses growing on roots and stones, water vegetation;
  • open spaces;
  • possible decoration in the form of branches or roots, however it shouldn't dominate;
  • minimal water flow;
  • water oxygenation: 0.05-3.0 mg/l;
  • dispersed lighting, moderate to strong;

Fish species:

All species that like warm waters and can survive in conditions with a small amount of oxygen, e.g., catfish, armored fishes.

Plant species:

All plant species that come from South America.
