Marsh Pennywort (Hydrocotyle Vulgaris)

This is a muddy species. It comes from temperate and subtropical Europe. Its natural habitats are wetlands, ditches, swamps, meadows.

This plant has creeping stem with circular and undulating leaves on long leaf stems. The diameter of the leaf blade is about 3 cm. The leaf stems are centrally attached. The leaf blade is connected with leaf stem at right angle. It looks like a small umbrella.

They species may be completely submerged but then it is alive for less. It should be planted in the foreground in the aquarium.

This is moderately difficult plant. It needs strong lighting with warm its colour and light day should be long.

This is spermatophyte species but in aquarium we reproduce it vegetatively - by the runners.
