Water Hyssop (Bacopa Monnieri)
Other names: Dwarf Bacopa

This plant grows in muddy coasts or bottoms of tropical and subtropical reservoirs around the world.

The species has thick stem and poorly developed root system. There are sessile and green leaves on this stem. The leaf blade is thick, 1.5 cm long and about 1 cm wide.

This is very hardy species. It doesn't need additional fertilization or special light. We should hibernate this plant during the winter through reduction of the water temperature up to 16-18ºC and reduction intensity of the light.

It should be planted in the middle or at the back of the aquarium in groups of several pieces.

In aquarium we reproduce this plant vegetatively - by seedlings from cut upper part of the stems. These seedlings very quickly take root.
