This is peaceful and shy fish. It swims with grace and charm.
These fish need a large tank with a lot of plants, hiding-places among roots, space to swim. A dark and fine substrate will get the color of the fish to be brighter. This species is very sensitive to fluctuations of the temperature which may cause diseases - indigestion, constipation or skin infections.
This is an oviparous species. Female lays the roe on a leaves of plants or on a flat surfaces of decorative elements. The eggs hatch after 2 days. The fry starts swimming 2 days later. Then the fry attaches to the skin of the parents. They feed like that for about 2 weeks. Then you need to give them additional food.
