This is shoal species. It prefers to swim at all water levels. You may keep these fish in a general tank. This species can become territorial with age.
This species prefers a spacious tank. This aquarium should include space to swim, hiding-places, dimmed light, a lot of plants. This species prefers clean and oxygen-rich water. Partial water changes are not frequently required.
This is an oviparous species. Breeding these fish is not an easy task. The fish spawn in pairs in a separate tank. The breeding aquarium should include dimmed light and plants. Female lays around 100 eggs among plants. The eggs hatch after 1 day. The fry starts to swim and feed 5 days later.
