This is friendly, active and shoal species. It prefers to swim in the middle and upper water levels. The fish likes to hide among the plants or other decorative elements.

Aquarium decoration

The aquarium should include a lot of plants, hiding-places among roots, dark substrate, space to swim and dimmed light.

Breeding

This is an oviparous species. You should breed these fish in a separate tank. This breeding aquarium should have a bit higher water temperature. Female spreads eggs everywhere. The parents don't take care for the offspring – they can eat the egg and offspring so you should remove the parents after spawning. The eggs hatch after 2 days. The fry starts to swim and feed about 1 week later.
