Brazilian Milfoil (Myriophyllum Aquaticum)
Nazywany też: Parrot Feather

This species comes from South America - from Amazon in Brazil. This is a semi-aquatic plant. Its natural habitats are coasts of swamps, lakes, ponds and streams. It grows around the world at present because human.

The species has long and strong stem with feathery leaves. The leaves are arranged in tiers and they are green with orange-red tips when we use strong lighting.

This species can be used as floating plant (until it forms roots) or it can be planted in substrate. It should be planted in the middle or at the back of the aquarium in groups of several pieces at distance of several centimeters. The bottom leaves may fall when we plant these seedlings too tight.

The species prefers clean water with systematic partial water changes, scattered lighting, substrate with clay. We should reduce water temperature up to 18°C in the winter. The plant is sensitive to algae and herbivorous fish. It can grow above the water surface.

This is spermatophyte species but in aquarium we reproduce it vegetatively - by seedlings from cut stems.
